The Kambly BLS train is one of Switzerland’s most charming and recognisable special train liveries. Introduced as a collaboration between BLS and Kambly, the famous Swiss biscuit maker from the Emmental region. In 2010, the first "Kambly train" was introduced and put into service to celebrate Kambly's 100th anniversary. The locomotive-hauled train, consisting of an EW III coach set, which ran on the Bern - Trubschachen - Lucerne route, which delighted young and old alike. Due to the introduction of the split-unit concept in Wolhusen, the Kambly train could no longer operate on this route after the timetable change in December 2016. The train is now seen frequently running between Bern and La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Running through the picturesque Emmental and along key BLS routes, the Kambly train showcases vibrant branding inspired by the iconic Kambly biscuits and connects visitors directly to the Kambly Erlebniswelt in Trubschachen. It has become a beloved symbol of Swiss regional culture, blending local heritage, scenic rail travel, and a touch of sweet nostalgia.
