German Railroad Track Laying, Inc. (DBG) – Fictitious Class 367 Diesel Switcher

Prototype: Between 1973 and 1985, Henschel of Kassel built 55 Class DHG 700 locomotives, which proved highly reliable in long-term service with private and industrial railways. When German Railroad Track Laying, Inc. faced an acute motive-power shortage in 2005/2006, it turned to this proven design.

Although the Class DHG 700 had not been built for nearly 20 years, DBG— a subsidiary of German Rail, Inc.—acquired six units that became available when an industrial railway ceased operations. DBG assigned these locomotives to Az-Dienst (work train service).

As this locomotive type had not previously appeared on the rosters of DB AG or its subsidiaries, the six units were classified as Class 367 and numbered 367 001-5 to 367 006-4.
